Art brings us closer when there is space to encounter it.
artists.pt brings together Portuguese artists and artists developing their practice in Portugal. The project begins with a simple idea: discovery should not depend solely on closed lists, algorithms or prior knowledge.
01 · Discovery
Each profile provides a clear point of entry — biography, disciplines, the artist’s words and selected works. The directory lets visitors begin with a name or practice and continue through editorial connections.
02 · Participation
Artists create and maintain their own bilingual profiles. Every submission is reviewed before publication to protect the archive’s coherence and trust.
03 · Editorial principles
We publish context, not rankings. We identify sources, respect image authorship and never present generated imagery as an artist’s work.
